Sound plant analysis
by Dr. York-El
[If] you have plants all dolled up in your house . . . How do you think they feel looking at you eating a salad? And, while we are on the subject of plants . . . How could an all-loving God create something like plant life? Let’s take for instance: a rose is very attractive to the human eye. However, when you go to touch it, it has thorns to prick you. The thorns were placed there as a defense or protection. My question is why make them so desirable that you want to touch them. Most attractive plants and flowers such as: blackberries, many roses, honey locusts, cacti, cockleburs, and many other plants have barbs, burrs, spines, and thorns. They may not be poisonous, however when an animal comes along to eat it, who is just as gullible as a human, the plant injures the animal’s eyes, mouth and skin.

. . . Some plants and fruits are similar in appearance, however, one can be deadly and the other is good for you. For instance, the deadly hemlock plant (that contains enough poison to kill a cow, and has poisoned humans) has been mistaken for parsley. Look at the deception God makes on children. God creates the berries that look good, and very attractive, but if eaten will sicken you. On the other hand he created the sweet berries that are less attractive but good for you. Isn’t this backwards because the most attractive things in life are detrimental to your health. What is your God’s point? This is deception . . . What does this tell you about your God?

. . . We all live by this vicious chain reaction system. Who made it? Humans eat animals, plants, and flowers. Animals eat humans and plants. Plants eat insects and if they could, they’d eat humans and animals. However, plants can cause infectious diseases and poisons.

Why not add a manual in the bible explaining what plants that humans and animals can and cannot touch and eat, to go along with the manual on the human anatomy (i.e. Leviticus)? That is what a caring god would have done. That way it would be fair to the animals, plants and humans. Then, if you still decided to bother with the “forbidden” things of nature, you would be doing it at your own risk.
