The Ka'ba’s water spout
. . . Where in the scriptures does it say to cherish a spout over the tomb of a Prophet?
The object which is associated with the grave of the Apostle Ishmael is the gold rain spout called muth'ab which measures four feet long. It is located on the northwest side of the Ka'ba, about two feet below the roof and is called the miyzaabur rahmaan, or the “water spout of mercy.” It was sent from Constantinople (now Istanbul), Turkey, in 981 AD. It carries rain from the roof of the Ka'ba onto the tomb of the Apostle Ishmael. Why a spout was placed on the Ka'ba, and the signifigance of the rain upon the tomb of the Apostle Ishmael is beyond sound explanation.
