U.S. Presidential Election 2008
McCain
McCain Feingold act - This is the elephant in the room, and it just pooped. This act blatantly violates freedom of the press, and free speech.
Sen. John McCain, who in 2000 wooed the press by doubting Bush’s proposed tax cuts for the “rich” and by worrying about the wealth “gap.” McCain also won the fawning of the press by championing a campaign-finance law that restricts freedom of the press, and by attacking the Christian Right as “agents of intolerance.” But McCain, another calculating fellow, has remade himself. Now he says the problem is not taxes but spending, and he meets with opponents of gay marriage and calls for the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Predictably, his favorite-Republican status with the national media has expired. He is the new Bob Dole.1
He is too old. Can we stop nominating senior citizens? (Biden too, pushing 66)
“John McCain also denounces “self-indulgence” and insists that Americans serve “a national purpose that is greater than our individual interests.” During a Republican debate at the Reagan Library on May 3, 2007, Sen. McCain derided Mitt Romney’s leadership ability, saying, “I led . . . out of patriotism, not for profit.” Challenged on his statement, Mr. McCain elaborated that Mr. Romney “managed companies, and he bought, and he sold, and sometimes people lost their jobs. That’s the nature of that business.” He could have been channeling Barack Obama.”2
Obama
At his surmon/acceptance, as the democrat nominee, he praised Dick Durbin – the man who called U.S. Marines, Nazis. He also equated criminals carrying AK-47s to the second amendment. He also inculcates that McCain voted with President Bush 90% of the time, presidents do not vote. And, if he means the President’s policies, scroll down to and read Party Hearties.
“Obama would mandate that all employers provide their workers with insurance. That proposal would almost certainly end up hurting workers. An employer is indifferent as to whether compensation comes in the form of wages, taxes, health insurance or other benefits. Employers will therefore have to find ways to offset the added costs. This they can do by raising prices, lowering wages or reducing future wage increases, reducing other benefits such as pensions, or hiring fewer workers. As always, employees will be the net losers, with the low-skilled suffering most.”3
Radio talkshow host Neal Boortz repeatedly, for over a week, asked Barack’s naif followers this simple question, what are some of his accomplishments? All I heard were mumbles, one gentleman did say well he’s young.
He is clearly a socialist. He has “a voting record actually to the left of Bernie Sanders, Vermont’s self-proclaimed socialist.”4
Universal health-care, what could be worse than the government controlling your health? Notice, they don’t call it government health care.
President Bush would have certainly been deemed
“dumb” if he said
this, how about Obama?
Endorsement?
I could go on and on about these candidate’s shortcomings and Constitution violations, but it’s pointless, one of them will be our next ruler. I’d prefer McCain (judicial appointments and defense). I predict Obama will win, thanks to the mass hysteria of the dumb-masses, and, the fact that the media picked McCain - a drab candidate. “We‘re in a very strange world and you wanna give the keys to a rookie (Obama) with strange ties?” Tom Marr. Well, he is inspirational. So, what’s a voting God to do? For me, it’ll be a write-in, Ron Paul (he’s old too, his good trumps that).
P.S. There’s no constitutional right to vote, and I wish there was a test requirement for doing so.
The left is attacking Sarah Palin’s daughter, but with Bill Clinton it was private (true, but purgery’s not). And, she’s not qualified, really? Here’s a quick fact, titled Sarah Palin and Theodore Roosevelt. Too bad she’s not running for Empress of the US, I’d consider voting for her.
To you unemployment whiners - “The U.S. unemployment rate averaged 4.7% from 2001-2007. This compares with a 5.2% average rate during President Clinton’s term of office, and is well below the euro zone average of 8.3% since 2000. - Source: Bush Has a good Economic Record.
Barry compared himself to Paris Hilton, long before (2005) any McCain ad. “Andy Warhol said we all get our 15 minutes of fame, says Barack Obama. I’ve already had an hour and a half. I mean, I’m so overexposed, I’m making Paris Hilton look like a recluse.” Yet, he, and the overrated starlet makes fun of the McCain ad.
The nonpartisan, unbiased group Citizens Against Government Waste (one of my favorite organizations) has given Obama a 22% lifetime score, which places him in the “Unfriendly” (three points above “Hostile”) to taxpayers category. Mccain, 88% - “Taxpayer Hero.”
